The Embers at Blackmon Amphitheater on Friday night

Friday night at the Blackmon Amphitheater...the crowd was dancing up a storm!

The Embers played great tunes and the dance floor stayed busy.

 

Shelton Vineyards poured wine and The Dairy Center sold food.

Old North State and Reggie Johnson

You know when the Blackmon opens, most people head over to the event since they are so glad it's spring again. But, some did not! Here, at the other end of downtown, Old North State Winery had Reggie Johnson entertaining for those who did not brave the crowds at the amphitheater!

An intimate crowd gathered and enjoyed the winery.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the evening out, thanks to Old North State.

You can tell as the night progressed, people were not ready to leave!

Jerry Chapman entertained the crowd Thursday night at Old North State Winery.

Many were enjoying a great night out with friends and family.

A "girl's night out" with good conversation and music! Here are (left to right) Shannon Walker, Savannah, Deborah Bowman, and Patsy Atkins. 

Seems like everyone was having a really nice time at Old North State.

Griggs Hampton Memorial Fun Run

Along with the Art Walk, Saturday was also the day for the Griggs Hampton Memorial Fun Run, which had a good turn out. 


 

The fun run ended at Donna's Barber Shop....

There were bouncy houses for the kids to play in...
 
and don't forget the adults too!

...and games for everyone to play...

Here the cooks are grilling up food for donations...

It was great seeing everyone enjoying their day and all for a good cause...Griggs would have been proud!

Art Walk was an event in Downtown Mount Airy where artist's work was on display in various locations downtown, throughout the week. Mount Airy Library hosts story time for 4 & 5-year-olds on Thursdays

Looks like there was a wild party at the Library today!

Tommie Smith, the assistant librarian held story time today...
 

The children started off the day with show and tell...

and had lots of fun sharing their favorite things with everyone!

All the 4 and 5 yr olds had a fun time at the library...

even the little boys! Miss Tommie sure knows how to make everyone smile!

The Surry County Basket Makers met Tuesday at the Andy Griffith Playhouse

The girls were working very hard to create a new design tonight....
 

When done...their creations will look just like this!
 
Here the group works together to create their baskets....

They meet each month, and enjoy a little dinner, then start in on the baskets. Once a year the ladies donate baskets to the Surry Arts Council. Deborah Wagoner is the President of the Basket Makers who are a fun, friendly and fantastic group ...

He is very talented and has a huge selection of over 200 songs.

Four wild and crazy guys...

Old North State Winery is a great place to go for a Thursday night out.

A wonderful crowd always gathers.

Every week they have a different artist playing so stop in next week and hear Steve Lindsley!
